06Before we quote
Will your slab polish well?
What We Check First
Because the slab is the finish, its history shows. Existing cracks, old patches, joint edges, trowel marks and wherever the aggregate happens to sit all influence how the finished floor looks.
Perfectly uniform aggregate exposure cannot be promised. Aggregate position inside a slab varies, and grinding deeper to chase uniformity starts costing you flatness and clean joint edges instead.
So we look before we quote. If your slab will not polish well, the honest answer is grind and seal, resurfacing an existing slab first, or a coating — and we would rather say so than hand you a surprise.
Two things come up often on Florida slabs: glue and residue left by an old tile or vinyl floor, and moisture moving up through it. We evaluate both before quoting, not after.
